DOLPH'S THOUGHTS:
Directed by a New York artist, Robert Longo, he had a lot of interesting visual ideas for the movie and especially for my character. It was a William Gibson story; he is a Sci-Fi writer, who sort of minted the word "internet" He was well ahead of his time. He sort of predicted this high tech revolution.
For this picture I was to play a bad guy, the third time in my career. So I was trying to do something special with him. My character was a preacher, so I started watching these tapes on American TV-evangelist. I realized these guys where very good actors. At the same time I was trying to give my character this interesting look. So I had this long blond wig and a blond beard on - a bit of a Christ like figure. I was so successful, that when my agent came to visit me on the set, he walked right past me, "looking for Dolph Lundgren". At that moment, I realized that at least the disguise worked.
Also it was another chance to Co-star against another action-star, Keanu Reeves, Speed was about to be released later that year, which made him a huge star. It was fun to work with him; he is a really nice guy. We had a few fight scenes, maybe I taught him a few moves for his action career, hopefully!
